John Chapman has been a professional pianist for over 25 years, playing throughout the United States, and in Europe and South America. In his early career he toured with the Navy Show Band and later played for the Lester Lanin & Peter Duchin Society Orchestras. He has performed at such prestigious venues as Tatou, Sweetwaters and The Iridium in New York City, The Breakers in Palm Beach, Les Deux Fontaines and Burt Reynolds' Backstage in Miami's South Beach and The Cloister in Sea Island, Georgia as well as finer restaurants and hotels in south Florida where he and his wife Nancy, a ballroom dancer, spend winters. As well as performing with Duke Ellington alumnus Buster Cooper and Earl "Fatha" Hines' drummer Eddie Graham, John recently was thrilled to back New York vocalist, Tabitha Fair at the Iridium with David Letterman Show bassist, Will Lee and Jimmy Buffet percussionist (and Roberta Flack producer) Ralph McDonald. |
